If you are not staying at a hotel in the Colonial Zone or the booked tour is shared with other participants, the meeting point will be at the "Parque Colón" in front of the statue of Christopher Columbus. It is located in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo between Isabel la Católica street and Arzobispo Moriño street. Your guide will be waiting for you there with a sign with the Logo of our company.

Day 1

Half day through the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo

Tour start: 9:00 am

Santo Domingo is known as "The City of the First".
Within the 5 square kilometers of the Colonial Zone you will find the first hospital, university, cathedral, monastery, and even the first street of the New World. Imagine yourself walking down the first street built in the Americas!
Due to its historical importance, the Colonial Zone has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Today you will visit the first cathedral where the first bishop was consecrated, the palace of Diego Colón, the Royal Houses and the Parque Colón, with the bronze monument to Christopher Columbus. You will walk along Calle de las Damas and the well-known pedestrian area of El Conde, with its many shops and street vendors, as well as bars and restaurants.
Once the tour is finished, the guide will take you back to the meeting point.
If you want to stay in the Colonial Zone and have lunch in a restaurant, do not hesitate to ask your guide, he will gladly recommend something.
