Itinerary

Day 1
Route of the 7 Lakes

Tour start time: 8:00 am

It is one of the traditional excursions that the Andean Patagonia offers us, covering its 360-kilometer route.

  • Leaving north on national route 237 crossing the Limay river , leaving the province of Rio Negro behind and entering the province of Neuquén , it skirts the north shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi on national route 231 that connects us with the city of Villa la Angostura.
  • During this tour we will see the Huemu l arm , Victoria Island and a small grove of Arrayanes, in this way we arrive at Villa La Angostura, a typical mountain village, where we will make a small stop on the way to visit its main street.
  • From here we start the tour of the Camino de los 7 Lagos , which borders the Andes mountain range, immersed in a lush humid forest where we can recognize the most important species of native flora, this path will dazzle us with its landscapes and lakes magically Distributed in the region, starting from Correntoso Lake , the first of the seven, each one will follow one another with its particular views, we will arrive at the viewpoint of Lago Espejo , and then with the Bailey Willis lagoon, following the route we will meet again the north arm of Correntoso Lake , we will cross the bridge over the Ruca Malén stream and later on the bridge over the Pichi Traful river until we reach Lake Escondido with a small viewpoint where you can take some beautiful photographs.
  • From here on we will have a series of lakes starting with Villarino , facing Lake Falkner which has beautiful sandy beaches and a dreamy landscape with Cerro Buque on its southern coast.
  • Following our path we will arrive at the formidable Vuliñanco waterfall, with its jump of more than 35 meters, then we will see Lake Machónico , with its spectacular natural viewpoint and from here we will go directly to meet our last lake, El Lácar , which crowns the city of San Martín de los Andes, a truly stunning urbanization both for its landscapes and for its rich architecture. Its streets full of rose bushes, makes this city a beautiful Patagonian garden. We will arrive in San Martín de los Andes at midday where we will stay approximately two hours for lunch and tour the city.
