The Juan Diéguez Olaverri Viewpoint is located in the department of Chiantla, Huehuetenango. This site stands out for being one of the first tourist attractions for those who visit the beautiful Sierra de los Cuchumatanes. At its summit, the tourist can find 9 monuments that support the verses of a poem written by the native poet of Huehuetenango, Juan Diéguez Olaverri. In fact, it is in his honor that the viewpoint received this name.

Chiabal is a village located in the municipality of Todos Santos Cuchumatán in Huehuetenango, at a height of 3,300 meters above sea level, this territory is considered authentic to the Mam culture. The name means in its original word the base of the stone, derived from the place called Piedra Cuache. This destination is recognized because one of the main economic sources is the herding of sheep, llamas and alpacas. Its trails have a unique vegetation in the region of Guatemala.
