Itinerary


Day 1
Start the adventure
  • Our guides will receive you at the base camp in the town of La Ciénaga (1,100 m / 3,609 ft), where after a brief orientation talk, review of the trip itinerary and enjoying a delicious dinner, you will rest on the banks of the Yaque River. of the North, to begin the tour the next day.

Day 2
Hike to the La Compartition shelter
  • After enjoying a tasty breakfast at the base camp, we will begin our 18 km (11.2 mi) hike to the mid-mountain refuge called La Compartión, where we will spend the night. The hike consists of: 4 km (2.5 mi) flat, 11 km (6.8 mi) up, and 3 km (1.9 mi) down. Upon arriving at La Compartión, a delicious gourmet dinner in front of the bonfire, under the starry sky, will help us relax and recover.

Day 3
Climb to the top
  • The first walk of the day will be 5 km (3.1 mi) to our goal, the top of Pico Duarte. At the top we will celebrate and enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the majestic Central Mountain Range. We will walk another 5 km (3.1 mi) to return to La Compartition, where we will relax the rest of the afternoon and share the last night of our adventure under the stars.

Day 4
Goodbye Peak
  • We will return to the base camp doing an 18 km (11.2 mi) hike, which will be easier than the day we went up, but will still be a challenge. Upon arriving at the base camp, a delicious personalized lunch and a hot shower will be the perfect farewell to an adventure that we know will remain engraved, both in our memories and in our hearts.
  • Experienced mountaineers in excellent physical condition can complete this adventure in 2.5 days. The last day involves an intense 28 km walk, with a gradient of 1,468 m and a loss of altitude of 3,468 m.
